The LOM Piano Trio is one of the most respected and established chamber music groups of a new generation of musicians from Spain, and as such, since their first performance in the fall of 2001, the trio has awaken the interest and high expectations from both the concert promoters and the general audiences.
Soon the LOM Piano Trio won the First Prize at the ¨Paper de Música de Capellades¨ national chamber music competition, the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the ¨Concurs Montserrat Alavedra¨ national chamber music competition, and the First Prize in the ¨TIM International Chamber Music Competition¨ celebrated in France, and since then they have an increasing agenda of concerts mainly around Spain and Europe, in important music halls such as the “Auditori” and the “Palau de la Musica Catalana” in Barcelona, the new auditoriums of Valencia, Zaragoza, Valladolid, the Pau Casals Auditorium, and the Enrique Granados Auditorium. Recently, the trio did a very successful tour of South America playing in some of the most important theatres and concert halls of the continent such as Teatro Solís in Montevideo (Uruguay), Teatro São Pedro in Brasil or the Teatro Coliseum of Buenos Aires (Argentina).
Internationally acclaimed artists such as former cellist of the Beaux Arts Trio Bernard Greenhouse, maestro Antoni Ros Marbà and cello soloist Lluís Claret have recognised the LOM Piano Trio as one of the most talented trios of today.
In 2005 they released their first CD with the works of spanish catalan composers Granados, Gerhard and Borgunyó (LMG2065) copies of which have been bought all over Europe, America and Asia. They have just recorded a new CD with Shostakovich’s two piano trios and Songs for trio and soprano (with the well known korean soprano Young-Hee Kim), which is to be released this spring. Later this year they are to record two new CDs with NAXOS.
